Responsibilities Pfizer Consumer Healthcare is looking for a Senior Manager, Shopper Category Insights to join our analgesics franchise at our PCH HQ in Madison, NJ.
JOB SUMMARY
Under general guidance of the Dire! ctor of the Sales Strategy, the Sr. Manager is responsible for! all business research and analytics for the PCH portfolio of Analgesics brands. The scope of this role is U.S and the Sr. Manager will proactively partner with US business teams to provide insightful direction for marketing, sales strategy, field sales and Shopper and Category Insights . The Sr. Manager will be required to possess a broad range of analytic capabilities, and be responsible for delivering best in class insights in the areas of In-market performance, shopper behavior and decision making, shelving/pricing research projects, and the development of aisle and category solutions. This role will have responsibility for working cross functionally with all of the brand teams, market research team and the Category and Shopper Insights teams located in the Regional Business Centers. They will be a champion of a culture of teamwork and sharing across the broader Shopper Marketing, Marketing, Sales, Sales Strategy, and Insights team, helping accelerate the development of! a high performance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leverage existing category and shopper insight inventories, identify insight and data gaps, and help secure resources to develop the next evolutions of category leadership merchandising plans.
- Develop resource and learning plans to create a Pain Category Platform and be cognizant of todayâs developing sleep sub segment within the Pain category.; work closely with the Senior Platform Manager to develop PCH positions for the category and sub categories within the Pain segment.
- Ensuring appropriate resources and funding are identified and secured for research and implementation of merchandising shelf strategies and off-shelf non-promoted merchandising solutions
- Cull down broad consumer based trends into meaningful new insights for all brands in the Pain Franchise
- Anticipating and responding to customer and customer team needs, visiting retail environments regularly and i! nitiating appropriate selling enhancement and/or defense plans to capit! alize on market opportunities
- Acting liaison for field Shopper and Category Insights teams to headquarters sales strategy and marketing
- Co-develop and co-manage major, field-based, retailer specific, research projects utilizing macro expertise while identifying potential project efficiencies across internal/external efforts.
- Incorporate key shopper and consumer insights for new item launches
- Incorporating and developing Pain Category and brand insights
- Develop Pain Category/Brand POG sell in story with cross-functional collaboration across internal Shopper Insight, Consumer Insight, and Brand teams
- Develop Pediatric Pain POG story
- Track key initiatives in the marketplace (Competitive returns, New Item launches, etcâ¦.)
- Sales Strategy lead for insights and research:
- Pricing studies
- Retail marketing mix Integration
- Product preference studies
- New item sourcing analyses
- Retailer profitability analyses
- Incremental placement analyses/opportunities

- Strong background in category management/shopper insights
- 8-10+ yearâs prior experience with focus on; shopper insights, category development, consumer research, analytic/research techniques with emphasis on platform development and retailer integration
- 5+ years experience on customer teams ( must be one of Top 5 customers) !
- Understands the needs of th! e customer and the needs of PCH. Serves as liaison
- Strong business acumen for sales/IRI data and able to translate insights into retailer recommended actions.
- Comfortable with forging new strategies in the market place
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen, adapt to change, and effectively
