1.1 The age of the clients served: ___ under 1 year; ___ 1-4 yrs; ___ 5-12 yrs; ___13-17 yrs; ___18-22 yrs
1.2 The primary purpose of this position
1.2.1 The Pediatrician is familiar with pediatric health and assessment skills, and utilizes health teaching knowledge to promote positive health attitudes and habits. They perform clinical and administrative duties in a medical role
SECTION 2 Duties and Responsibilities
2.1 Performs clinical duties
2.1.1 Provides a co! mprehensive pediatric evaluation per program protocol and as c! linically indicated
2.1.2 Administering medications and completing lab work
2.2 Provides medical treatment to clients
2.2.1 Monitor ill client on an as needed basis
2.2.2 Insure that the physical health of the clients of the program is maintained, and perform physical examinations within the guidelines established by Medicaid and Division of Youth and Family Services
2.2.3 Refer client to the hospital when necessary and act as the child?s personal physician while they are hospitalized
2.3 Maintains client medical records
2.3.1 Maintain accurate and timely medical records of all evaluations, treatments and prescriptions given
2.4 Attends and provides agency required training
2.4.1 Participate in administrative meetings (when necessary) and participate in in-service training and provide in-service training when necessary
2.4.2 Provides medical supervision/consultation to the Nursing Staff at the site
2.5 Maintain! s quality of care to clients
2.5.1 Assumes responsibility for the medical treatment of assigned clients
2.5.2 Perform other medical duties as directed by the Medical Director
2.6 Other knowledge, skills, and abilities required
2.6.1 Demonstrates knowledge of medical principles, practices and procedures
2.6.2 Demonstrates knowledge of prescribed medications and side effects
2.6.3 Demonstrates knowledge of supervisory techniques and practices
2.6.4 Demonstrates skill in interviewing individuals and families
2.6.5 Demonstrates ability to diagnose and provide treatment to individuals
2.6.6 Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively
2.6.7 Demonstrates competence in age specific care and treatment of clients
2.7 Interpersonal Skills
2.7.1 Demonstrates empathy and compassion in conduct towards clients
2.7.2 Demonstrates respect, cooperation, consideration and tact in dealing with subordinates, peers,
supervisor! s and others
2.8 The employee will cooperate with the licensee! and the applicable State department or division
licensing unit with any legally mandated inspections or investigations
SECTION 3 Education Requirements
3.1 Doctor of Medicine from a legally incorporated medical college or school, board eligible
3.2 Licensed by the State of New Jersey to practice medicine
SECTION 4 Experience required
4.1 1 year of work related experience
SECTION 5 Training and other requirements
5.1 Maintain yearly core competency training and credentialing and privileging
5.2 Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and pass a criminal background check
5.3 Meet performance goal(s) established for the fiscal year

6.1 The number of employees supervised by this position varies depending on size of site
6.2 The usual internal and external contacts
6.2.1 Internal ? Program Administrator, staff, clients, Dire! ctor of Clinical Services, other psychiatrist and pediatrician, clinical nurse specialist
6.2.2 External ? Community agencies, guardians (when applicable), and the public
