Requirements: A Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, education, school psychology or a related field in combination with prior relevant work experience is required. A Masters degree in one of these fields is pref! erred. In the case of an employee who does not hold a Masters ! degree, it is preferred that the employee be goal oriented to enroll in a Masters degree program.Obtain and maintain Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention from the Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. (CPI) within 90 days of starting work.
All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.
Job Description: The Children's Intensive Emotional and Behavioral Program (CIEBP) provides comprehensive partial hospital services in a behaviorally based therapeutic setting for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old. Children attend the program daily for either 6 hours per day, 5 days per week or 5 hours per, 4 days a week. The program is open all year. Schools, pediatricians, the mental health community and parents refer the children we serve. Children are referred due to various behavioral, emotional, and social needs ! that significantly influence their ability to learn and participate constructively in the community. The children come from throughout the South New Jersey geographic region including Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean Counties. We provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment approach that includes the child, family and the community. Children are placed in a developmentally appropriate classroom that becomes the setting for therapeutic interventions. Interventions are designed to assist the child in accessing their social and learning potential so they can be returned to and maintained in the least restrictive home and educational placements.
The Clinical Specialist II is responsible for providing direct care to children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. The Clinical Specialist II provides systematic instruction to children in order to develop their behavioral self-control abilities, improve social and communication skills, identify and exp! ress feelings, increase on-task behavior, and expand recreation activit! ies. The Clinical Specialist II develops knowledge and expertise in the application of behavior modification techniques and demonstrates these skills in conducting their responsibilities. The Clinical Specialist II provides classroom leadership in carrying out the treatment goals for the children. The Clinical Specialist II assists in the training and supervision of Clinical Specialists I and Clinical Assistants.
