Description:
The role of the Educational Diagnostician is to provide academic assessment of referred students through observation, individual assessment, diagnostic teaching, parent interview, teacher interview, review of educational records. The Educational Diagnostician should be able to work effectively with students one-on-one, in small groups and in large group situations; demonstrate knowledge of nondiscriminatory evaluation placement and reevaluation criteria, parental participation, individual educational plan components, related service provisions, least restrictive environment, due process proceedings, and suspension/expulsion procedures; work in cooperation with multidisciplinary team members as well as with case conference team members; coordinate educational assessments in a timely fashion and follows procedures as outlined by the Special Education; administer a variety of tests, selects tests appropriate to the student! , and interprets test data appropriately; communicate and cons! ult with parents, teachers, related service personnel, and administrators; organize time and schedule to maximize time usage; provide social skills training to small and large groups of children; and perform other related duties as assigned.
