Position Summary: The ED/EMT-ED Tech will demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to assure assessment; treatment and care are appropriate and safe during transport. In addition the ED/EMT! demonstrates an understanding of the range of treatment needed and will operate and maintain the ambulance safely and efficiently. The ED/EMT-ED Tech will also provide direct, basic patient care under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse while functioning within the ED. The ED/EMT-ED Tech will provide care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment and the transportation of patients.
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: Minimum 1 years experience. 2-8 years preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirement: CPR (BLS from AHA required), Certification as Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) by Dept of Health and Senior Services, Certification in Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO), HAZMAT Awareness Course (completed)
Specialized Skills Requirement: Basic or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, Certified in Pediatric Emergency Care
1. Ambulance operation experience required
2.! Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal
4. Effective communication skills both orally and in writing
